Grading Policy
All students will be assessed in several ways, which may include homework problems, classwork, quizzes, and unit assessments. All of these are essential in the process of learning the material. Point values associated with all assignments will be posted on RENWEB. Once the marking period grade has been issued, the grade will not be changed.
Each assignment will be worth a certain number of points that will be added together to make up each marking period's grade.
Homework Policy
Homework is a review of the material taught in class. Homework will be assigned almost every night. Students will be given one night to complete most assignments. Most assignments will be worth 5 points. There is no make up or late homework. If you are absent you will be excused from the homework assignment. Late homework will not be accepted because we will correct all homework assignments in class as a class. Incomplete homework or homework without appropriate work shown will be given 2 points. Most homework assignments will be posted on google classroom. The only valid excuses for missing homework is illness or a documented family emergency.
Quizzes
Quizzes will be worth 35 to 50 points. Each quiz will encompass several topics. Topics on the quiz will be reviewed in the classes before the quiz.
Unit Tests
Unit test will be worth between 75 and 100 points. Prior to the test students will be given a study guide. We will spend at least a day reviewing for the unit test.
Preparedness for Class
20 points of each marking period will count towards being prepared for class including , but not limited to, having class supplies and following classroom norms such as routines for warm-ups. Students who are unprepared for class will lose 1 point each day they are unprepared.
Make Up work
All make up quizzes and test will be given the day you return to school. Any work not made up during the marking period will be entered as a zero.
